School Closure from March 17th - April 30th

March 16, 2020

As you are aware, the South Page Community School District will be closed for four weeks starting Tuesday, March 17, 2020 through Monday, April 30, 2020. Our staff is preparing to provide learning opportunities away from school during this time.

Teachers are preparing take home packets that will provide practice worksheets for students to continue working on learned skills. Other teachers are reaching out to students through their Google Classroom. After much discussions, it has been decided that limited new learning will be expected during the 4 week school cancellation. Staff feels it is important that students continue working and practicing on previously introduced skills that will help their achievement scores on the state assessment test that still needs to be taken before the end of the year. It is also highly encouraged to have your child continue reading for enjoyment or for information. Also, inside the packets will be the report card for 3rd quarter. Packets need to be picked up at the front office for your child tomorrow between 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm. When packets are picked up, there are several important forms that guardians need to sign and turn into the front office.

Students were asked to clean out their lockers and take home all textbooks and personal items. Students who were absent today, can come in between 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm to retrieve school and personal materials. The building will be closed after 2:00 pm tomorrow for cleaning purposes and no one will be allowed to use the facilities while school is not in session. Teachers will be contacting parents in the next two weeks in place of face to face parent teacher conferences via phone or email.

Breakfast and lunch meals will be offered to students. Curbside pick up will be available at the west side of the school building at the double doors of the South Page lunchroom from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm each Monday. Food boxes will be done on a weekly basis. If you wish to receive a box of food for your child, please fill out the following google form or email at SPlunch@southpageschools.com before 12:00 pm on the previous Friday. This is a free program for all South Page students 18 years and younger. More information will be announced when plans become finalized. We will update you as more information becomes available in the coming days. For more information in regards to COVID-19, you may contact the public hotline that has been established.
